Roxanna Cyganek, founder and practitioner behind HUMAN

About Roxanna

Care that sees
the woman first.

Roxanna created HUMAN after experiencing the profound physical and emotional benefits of MLD herself. Today she brings private, consent-led lymphatic care to women in their own homes.

She experienced it before she studied it.

Roxanna did not first discover manual lymphatic drainage as a service to offer. She discovered it as a client.

During one session, the light, rhythmic touch brought a level of relaxation and internal softening she had not expected. Emotion surfaced. She cried. She experienced the moment as a profound physical and emotional release.

The experience stayed with her because it felt different from an ordinary massage. The pressure was lighter, the pace slower, and the effect felt more whole-body. She wanted to understand what had happened and why the method had helped her so deeply.

That curiosity led her to study the lymphatic system, train in MLD, and eventually create HUMAN.

Every response is different. Most women describe MLD as deeply relaxing. Some may feel emotion, tears, memories, relief, or a sense of release. Others may not. No emotional response is required or treated as proof of success.

Comprehensive MLD education.

Roxanna completed the Toronto Lymphatic Academy’s full four-level LINFA™ manual lymphatic drainage pathway and holds the academy-issued Lymphatic Drainage Specialist Certificate.

The academy describes the pathway as progressing from foundational MLD into advanced functional and fascial applications, with nervous-system-informed and trauma-aware pacing.

Private care, on her terms.

HUMAN currently offers mobile in-home appointments for women. Roxanna built the service around the privacy, comfort and control that many women want when receiving hands-on care.

Roxanna’s approach is based on a simple belief: effective bodywork is not always about doing more. It is about noticing more carefully, understanding what system is being supported and applying the appropriate touch with intention.

Her work is gentle, but never casual. Every movement has a purpose, every sequence has an order and every session begins with attention to the person receiving it.

Before treatment, Roxanna explains the proposed areas, positioning, touch, draping and sequence. Consent can be changed, paused or withdrawn at any time.

The practice is not designed around beauty standards, weight loss or the idea that a woman’s body needs to be fixed. The aim is thoughtful MLD, clear communication and appropriate boundaries.

The HUMAN standard

The woman’s best interest
comes before the appointment.

01

Consent

Nothing is assumed. Areas, pressure, positioning and draping are discussed first.

02

Clarity

Roxanna explains what MLD is, what it may support and what it cannot promise.

03

Precision

The method remains MLD, while areas, order, pressure, pace, positioning and focus adapt to the woman and purpose of the session.

04

Guidance

If medical assessment or another kind of care should come first, Roxanna will say so. The right next step matters more than filling the calendar.
