HUMAN FAQ
What women
want to know.
Clear answers before you decide.
No. There is one primary starting point: the 60-minute First HUMAN Session. Tell Roxanna what you are experiencing. She will assess fit and adapt the MLD session to the concern, timing, comfort, and response.
HUMAN uses manual lymphatic drainage, also called MLD or lymphatic massage. It is not standard massage performed more gently. MLD uses calibrated pressure, anatomical direction, measured pace and deliberate sequence, and it is not a menu of massage styles. See the full comparison ↗
Because the method is intended to work through the skin and superficial tissue where initial lymphatic structures begin. The goal is calibrated pressure appropriate to the system being supported, not intensity for its own sake. More pressure is not automatically more effective.
Roxanna completed the Toronto Lymphatic Academy’s full four-level LINFA™ manual lymphatic drainage pathway and holds the academy-issued Lymphatic Drainage Specialist Certificate.
It may, depending on the pattern creating the sensation of tightness. Fascia and other connective tissues exist within a fluid-filled extracellular environment. When swelling, congestion, sensitivity, or guarding contribute to tightness, MLD may help the area feel less full, less compressed, and easier to move. Read the fascia, fluid and tightness page ↗
MLD’s slow, predictable rhythm may support relaxation, calmer body awareness, and a felt sense of settling. Most women experience the session as quiet and deeply relaxing. Some may also experience emotion, memories, tears, relief, or a sense of release. Responses vary. Read the body guarding page ↗
It can feel that way for some women. Roxanna experienced this herself during the session that led her to study MLD. No emotional response is required or guaranteed, and Roxanna does not force meaning onto tears, memories, or sensations. HUMAN does not replace psychotherapy or other appropriate mental health care.

Seek medical advice for sudden, unexplained, or rapidly worsening swelling, redness, warmth, significant pain, fever, feeling unwell, skin drainage, suspected infection, or a suspected blood clot. The right next step matters more than filling an appointment.
Coverage depends on Roxanna’s verified professional designation and your individual benefits plan. Confirm both before assuming reimbursement.
